KidPlay was born in 2015 when our founders, Emily Chen and Daniel Jackson, both parents and technology enthusiasts, noticed a gap in the market for truly educational games that children actually enjoyed playing. As parents themselves, they were frustrated with the available options – games were either too focused on entertainment with little educational value, or too academic and boring for children.
Starting with just three team members working from Emily's garage, we created our first game "Number Adventures" which combined colorful characters with fundamental math concepts. To our surprise, the game went viral among parent communities, receiving over 100,000 downloads in the first month alone.
This early success allowed us to expand our team and develop more games covering various educational areas including literacy, problem-solving, and social skills. By 2018, we had partnered with educational psychologists and curriculum experts to ensure our games were not only fun but also aligned with educational standards.
Today, with offices in San Francisco and London, KidPlay has grown to a team of 35 passionate educators, developers, designers, and child development specialists. We've released over 50 games across multiple platforms, reaching more than 2 million children worldwide while maintaining our core mission: to create games that children love to play and parents love to see them playing.
